Bälinge kyrka, one of the larger medieval churches in Uppland, dates from the late 12th century. The church's location in a rich farming district and its close connection to Uppsala domkyrka have contributed to many costly rebuildings over the years. Today the church has largely a neoclassical appearance from the late 18th century.

About the church
Bälinge kyrka is a church building in Bälingebygden parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. It is situated at the edge of the Uppsalaslätten plain, just over ten kilometres north-west of Uppsala. It lies in a farming district just over ten kilometres north-west of Uppsala and is one of the largest and most richly decorated churches in Uppland. From the Reformation until 1922, Bälinge was a prebend church for the archbishop.
