Ärja ödekyrka

Ärja kyrka was probably built in the later part of the 12th century as an estate church. The church was built of fieldstone and consisted of a nave with a narrower, square-ended chancel. During the Middle Ages a sacristy was added on the north side of the chancel, the church was extended to the west and a porch was built in front of the entrance in the south.
