About the church
Ängersjö kyrka is a church building in Ängersjö. It is the parish church of Ytterhogdal, Överhogdal and Ängersjö parish in the Diocese of Härnösand. The church lies in Härjedalen Municipality but in the historical province of Hälsingland.
Ängersjö formerly had a chapel. According to tradition, priests came there from Ljusdal to hold services "in the days when the censer was used". The first written document dates from 1669. In that year the chapel's account book began. The chapel district then consisted of nine farms.
